The ICS/SCADA world is gaining more attention as cyber-security incidents across the world increase. Security vendors are focusing efforts to help information security analysts secure and defend the world of ICS/SCADA. Cybati is a training organization that is focusing on providing security training in the ICS/SCADA world. They have put out a "blackbox" challenge to further engage their community and help demonstrate the ways that ICS/SCADA environments can be assessed for security issues. The Blackbox challenge mentioned here and documentation provided here was a great challenge for the community to be engaged and learn more about these environments.
There were 8 steps to perform to learn more about the Cybati VM environment along with 15 missions to solve for points. There are individual blog posts covering each step and/or mission. The virtual machine for this challenge and further information can be found in the Google+ Cybati site. I was able to participate in this challenge and have blog posts scheduled for the steps and missions for this challenge. It was a fun blackbox challenge and was fun to participate!
